About Us

First of all, welcome to our blog! We are Hester (30 years old :)) and Timon (29 years young). We both grew up in the Netherlands, Hester in the north and Timon in the east of the country. 

Ten years ago, we both traveled to Finland for an educational experience abroad. This is where we first met and where we fell in love. Three years ago we got married and shortly after that we moved to NYC together. Since then, we have been happily living in Brooklyn.

The past three years we have been lucky to experience life in NYC and to see some beautiful sites in the US. Coming from small, rural cities in The Netherlands this has been an amazing experience. Reaching a certain age, we started reconsidering our dreams from the past, vs our current lifestyle. Those dreams never came to reality, and we decided that it was time to follow up on this longtime, exciting dream. This main dream can be simply summarized as travel and see something from the world. 

Early 2018, we decided the moment was right and we started with our preparations. Although we have been lucky to see many different places in the world already, we would not consider ourselves experienced travelers. Our first decision is to try and travel by car as far to the south as possible. Also, we created three goals; relax, remain flexible and let's see if we can reach Patagonia by road and sea (maybe fly a little). We currently have no specific timing for the whole trip (although Timon his mum thinks 3 weeks is long enough), our timing depends on how fast our budget will be disappearing.
